A woodland wedding dream, Kendra & Dean’s special day was set amongst the towering pines and hardwoods of The Mohicans Treehouse Resort and Wedding Venue. From their emotional first look by the lake to ending the night with a champagne spray under the stars, their day was simple, beautiful, and completely immersed in the magic of the venue’s wooded wonderland.

 When Kendra Met Dean

Their love is a story after Ezra and I’s own hearts. While we met on Tinder, Kendra & Dean met on Bumble. Soon after connecting, they realized they lived across the street from each other! If that isn’t a love destined to be, we don’t know what is – and we’re incredibly grateful they found each other! So many of our couples end up becoming our good friends, and we love to visit Kendra & Dean in their home outside the city, hanging out with them and their chickens.

The hand-hewn logs and rustic framework of the treehouse made every photo angle natural and timeless while Kendra & Dean were getting ready. Kendra & Dean are a very laid back couple, and the venue fit their vibe so effortlessly. The atmosphere amongst the trees was so relaxed, and the views out the treehouse windows were breathtaking.

A Storybook-Inspired First Look

Kendra & Dean decided to do a first look before the wedding, and they chose the privacy of the venue’s lake dock to capture the moment. Dean immediately got emotional seeing Kendra for the first time, and it was such a tender and intimate moment in the most idyllic setting. Ezra, L.A. and I all felt so honored to capture it from a distance.

Our Equilibrium Associate, L.A. also brought up their drone during the first look, so the couple would have stunning footage to look back on. We LOVE that they added drone footage to their wedding package as it really captured the majestic surroundings of their day.

The Woodland Wedding Ceremony

The Mohican Treehouse Resort & Wedding Venue has a captivating outdoor ceremony spot they call the patio. The patio looks out into the trees with enchanting views of the surrounding Mohican Valley.

Kendra & Dean said I do under a beautifully woven wedding arbor, filled with white roses and green vines. While their friend Anna played violin, the string lights glowed softly as they exchanged vows surrounded by loved ones. They could not have asked for a more perfectly magical ceremony.

Treehouse Wedding Portraits

After the ceremony, we explored the venue grounds, walking the bridges that meandered through the trees. We stopped at different treehouses, and they even took a moment to cozy up in a treehouse for their wedding portraits. It was such a simple way for Kendra & Dean to take a moment just for them and soak in the natural beauty all around them. And who doesn’t want to cozy up in a treehouse with their best friend?

The Celebration in the Woods

After portraits, Kendra & Dean decided to have their first dance on the patio where they had their ceremony. As Kendra’s dad had passed away when she was young, Kendra had the sweetest first dance with her mom. They moved all the benches from the ceremony to surround them as they danced across the patio.

Once the dancing concluded, everyone headed up to the main venue treehouse where they had toasts, dinner and cake. As the night wore on, the string lights and simple floral décor really made the night take on an enchanted air.

One of the night’s highlights was when Kendra & Dean stepped out under the stars and had one last toast with a champagne spray. It goes without saying, Ezra and I loved every second of their woodland wedding at The Mohicans Treehouse Resort and Wedding Venue. We love reminiscing with them still to this day.
