Contemporary Cleveland Wedding at BLDG17 – Stacia + Evan

While Ezra and I become incredibly close to each of our couples, Stacia & Evan have been with me since the beginning. Back in 2021 when I was still offering mini sessions to start out, they found me via Facebook and booked a home session at their apartment. We became insta-besties, and their contemporary wedding at BLDG17 in downtown Cleveland was filled with all the moody and modern vibes we love so much.

When Stacia Met Evan

Stacia & Evan had one of those meet-cute moments that seem to come right out of a storybook. While on separate family vacations in Mexico, they met and quickly realized they only lived a few hours apart. They’ve been together ever since.

BLDG17 | Cleveland’s Contemporary Wedding Venue

When they booked BLDG17 in downtown Cleveland, Ezra and I were very excited. The venue is a renovated historical warehouse, which gives it all the urban loft vibes you could ever wish for. With an expansive 15,000 square feet to play with, it’s the perfect blank canvas to work from. The venue also boasts some of the most insane natural light, which of course is a photographer’s dream.

H3: Other reasons why BLDG17 was the dream contemporary wedding venue:

  • Features two getting ready suites for the wedding party to use, including restrooms.
  • Additional event restrooms
  • Private parking for up to 400 vehicles
  • A private entrance with a freight entrance, elevator and loading dock ideal for catering trucks, music/video equipment, furniture, etc.
  • Outdoor courtyard
  • Catering kitchen
  • Open vendor list

Getting Ready at BLDG17

Since this Cleveland venue had it all, the couple spent their entire wedding day at BLDG17. One of our favorite moments was when Stacia’s bridesmaids gifted her with a photo album filled with precious memories from over the years. Not only was it a sweet gift, but it created such a special moment for them to pause and reminisce together.

A Moody First Look Moment

As Cleveland wedding photographers, we know that sometimes the locations you least expect, have the most potential. Ezra and I noticed there were some insane light leaks happening through the window of the bathroom waiting area, and we knew we had to jump on it. We were so happy that Stacia & Evan trusted us, because they came out STUNNING.

Wedding Party First Look

After their first look together, the couple then decided to do a first look together with their entire wedding party. It was such a fun first look twist, and we love that they did it together rather than separately!

The Contemporary Wedding Ceremony | BLDG17 Cleveland

Stacia & Evan chose an elegant and modern monochrome wedding palette which effortlessly played off the contemporary white brick walls of BLDG17. From the timeless touches of greenery with the white florals and white candles to the minimal wedding arch, they absolutely nailed the urban elegance wedding aesthetic.

Cleveland Wedding Portraits | Jack Knife Bridge & BLDG17

Thanks to BLDG17’s proximity to iconic Cleveland landmarks, we were able to get a beautiful variety of wedding portraits of the couple, their wedding party and their families. While we took private portraits at the venue, we also got some incredible wedding portraits at the Jack Knife Bridge in downtown Cleveland.

BLDG 17 Contemporary Wedding Reception

After portraits, Stacia & Evan’s bridesmaids and groomsmen were introduced and got the party started by taking shots off of the shot wall (made by Evan!). A magical sunset first dance, wedding toasts, dinner and epic dancing ensued.

It was an absolute blast watching the DJ (one of our future brides Jaime from The Energy Producer) get every single guest up and dancing on the dance floor.

Post Wedding Portraits | Cleveland Public Library

Wedding days are always a whirlwind for our couples, and we love that Stacia & Evan decided to do a post wedding photo shoot with us to keep the magic going just a little bit longer. Dressed up in their wedding attire a week after getting married, we wandered around the timeless architecture of Cleveland Public Library, capturing some breathtaking wedding portraits. These are some of our absolute favorites, and we loved getting to spend more time with Stacia & Evan in their just married bliss.
